You’ve probably never heard of Codex Alimentarius; and that’s just the way certain vested interest groups want it to be.
If you have heard of it and think it’s just some obscure law about herbs and supplements that doesn’t really matter, then you couldn’t be further from the truth.
Why?
Because Codex Alimentarius is actually a means of eroding some of your liberties in ways that are not obvious.
According to the National Health Federation, the aims and objectives of Codex Alimentarius are as follows:
– Only low-potency, “me too” supplements available that will do nothing for your health.
– All or most foods genetically-modified.
– Beneficial supplements unavailable or sold by prescription only.
Even if you don’t take supplements, the little phrase “All or most foods genetically modified” should make you angry!
When this is fully implemented in Europe on May 1st this year, you will be denied many rights that you currently have.
These include the right to use herbal remedies, the choice not only of GM or non-GM foods but also the option to choose organic foods, because foods will no longer be labelled, which will leave you with no idea about the origin and contents of the foods you’ll be buying.
According to the USA, GMOs are substantially equivalent to non-GMOs, which is an outrageous proposition! And dangerous too!
For those of us who care about what we eat; what we put both in and on our bodies – which should be every single one of us – then this whole legislation is an outrage.
